Free Code Camp so far
I thought i would do a write up now that ive been doing Free Code Camp for a while now.
So far it's been vary good, the challenges are very well done and most importantly fun. This is so much better and more structured that other services ive used. If your like me you need a bit of direction then Free Code Camp is just what you need.
While this has been the best and most fun tutorials i have done it, it hasn't been all fun and games.
Firstly i have a love hate relationship with JavaScript the language of choice. Ive done research and I'm not alone many do not like it but many more do. I seems to take time to get used to all the quirks. The phrase easy to learn but hard to master could not be more true. I'm not new to coding and most the languages ive used before are statically typed and in some cases compiled. This makes getting used to JavaScript difficult at times.
Next issue i has was the focus on Front End, this seems to be the new cool thing everyone likes, and where the majority of Free Code Camps focus is. Im still deciding between front end and back end but i rather heavily lean towards back end making Free Code camp feel less relevant at times.
Ive decided to take a break from Free Code Camp for now for two reasons.
1. At the end of the month i will start a new course at uni and will be learning .NET and C#
2. I want to try working on some projects, i'm tired of learning for learning sake and actually be creating stuff.
By the end of my course i may well want to be a .NET developer but might not, I will wait and see, be open to new thinks and will report of my progress. I'm excited to be returning to back end for now but I have not given up on Free Code Camp. I will return to it sometime in the near future to learn Angular or React to work with the back ends i create. so should be super fun.
I will end this here but hopefully wont be too long until i blog again.
